Zelenskyі and Erdogan are trying together to restore the grain agreement
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Turkish leader Recep Erdogan are coordinating efforts aimed at returning the Russian Federation to the grain agreement. This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, in a comment to Ukrinform.
“Ukraine is coordinating with Erdogan so that Putin returns to the Black Sea Grain Agreement, and Erdogan is coordinating with Zelensky. This is a common interest,” noted Dmytro Kuleba.
According to the minister, the only person capable of returning Putin to the grain agreement remains President Erdogan. It should be noted that on July 17, the Russian Federation withdrew from the grain agreement, ceasing its existence.
On August 2, a telephone conversation took place between Putin and Recep Erdogan, as a result of which the parties agreed on Putin’s visit to Ankara. In a conversation with Putin, Erdogan tried to convey the idea that a long-term suspension of the previously concluded grain agreement would not benefit anyone.
The President of Turkey claimed that the countries that primarily need grain and also face the problem of low incomes will suffer the most, because grain prices have already increased by 15% and this is only in the last two weeks. Turkey is the guarantor of the grain corridor and its leader is confident that the agreement will be extended.
