Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned Russia that it may be left without ships and vessels if Moscow’s troops continue to attack Ukrainian ports.

He said this in an interview with the Argentine newspaper La Nacion.

Speaking to the Latin American media during a press conference, Zelensky said that Ukraine does not have many weapons, but if the Russians continue to hit the ports, they may be left without ships until the end of the war.

“Ukraine will definitely respond to any attacks on civilians and grain corridors. And this is what we want to show them,” he said.

Zelensky added that if Russia continues to dominate and blockade the Black Sea, Ukraine will start doing the same, as it is a just defense and that Ukraine has the right to import and export products in its territorial waters.

The United Nations has condemned Russia’s recent attacks on Ukrainian grain storage facilities. Moscow’s decision to withdraw from the Black Sea grain deal and its repeated attacks on Ukrainian ports and infrastructure “are causing irreparable damage to the agricultural sector in Ukraine and could further exacerbate hunger for the world’s poorest people.”

This was stated by Denise Brown, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine, in a statement on Saturday.

As a reminder, on August 4, naval drones attacked the port of Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. The Russian landing ship Olenegorskiy Gornyak was damaged, which suffered a serious hole and is now unable to perform its combat missions.

A day later, on the night of August 5, an explosion occurred in the Kerch Strait – a Russian oil tanker Sig was damaged as a result of an attack by marine drones. This was reported by the Russian media.
