Zelensky on grain dispute with Poland: Ukraine chose legal process

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that only Ukraine suffered from the grain blockade, no one else.

“As president, with all my love for our Polish friends, I must be honest and protect Ukraine’s interests. Several months of economic losses have been calculated – hundreds of millions. But relations between our countries are more valuable than those months. Only Ukraine suffered from this blockade, no one else,” the Head of State noted.

According to Zelensky, despite the politics, there was a date and an agreement. And Ukraine’s current decision is aimed at obtaining purely economic compensation.

“We all agreed that there is a date when the restrictions will expire. And this date is 15 September. This is the last date of the blockade. There was such an agreement. And everyone understood that if there is a blockade after that date, Ukraine will choose the legal process. This is not news to anyone. There is no need to turn this into some kind of political concert. This is a civilised decision to ensure that Ukrainians, farmers, and the budget receive purely economic compensation,” the President added.
