Yields of wheat and barley may decrease by 5-7% in Ukraine
Due to the record drought in southern Ukraine, wheat and barley yields may drop by 5-7%, according to Taras Vysotsky, acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
According to him, 4 million tons of grain from the new harvest have been harvested so far.
“Unfortunately, some regions are experiencing a record drought and lower yields. At the same time, in the western and central regions, the figures are even higher than last year. So far, the forecast is within 5-7% less than the previous year, which is a really good result given all the challenges the war continues to pose,” Vysotsky said.
