Without seaports, exports of Ukrainian agricultural products will drop to 3.8 million tons per month
Ukraine will be able to export 3.7-3.8 million tons of agricultural products per month if the seaports of Odesa region are blocked. This was stated by Dmytro Solomchuk, MP, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, during a briefing.
“If there is no possibility to export via the Black Sea at all, we will be able to supply the world with 3.7-3.8 million tons of agricultural products. This is not enough,” he said.
Solomchuk added that if the seaports of Odesa region cease to operate, Ukraine will export through the Danube ports and by land (rail and road) through the countries of the European Union.
As Ukrinform reported, according to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, in June 2023, Ukraine exported 5.3 million tons of agricultural products. At the same time, 2 million tons of food were exported through seaports.
