Winter wheat harvesting has started in Kazakhstan
The winter crops harvesting campaign has started in Zhambyl region. This is reported by ElDala.kz with reference to the press service of the regional akimat.
This year, farmers of Zhambyl region have allocated 379 thousand hectares for grain crops: 162.7 thousand hectares were planted with winter wheat and 216.3 thousand hectares with barley.
Harvesting has already begun in the Zhambyl and T. Ryskulov districts. Farmers in Zhambyl have to harvest 4.5 thousand hectares of winter wheat and 13.3 thousand hectares of barley, while farmers in Ryskulovo have to harvest 61.7 thousand hectares of winter wheat and 53.2 thousand hectares of barley.
As of today, the region has harvested 305 tons of grain from 235 hectares.
In total, more than 800 units of agricultural machinery are planned to be involved in the harvesting operations.
