Kischenzi, a company in Cherkasy region run by a Dutch farmer Kees Huizinga, for the first time in Ukraine, started harvesting early grains with a serial wheeled NEXAT system tractor fitted with the NexCo system. The crop yields 8 t/ha on average.

Yuri Mruk, the director of Nexat Ukraine, told Traktorist.ua that the company started harvesting winter barley in the middle of last week. The high moisture content of the crop did not allow them to enter the fields earlier.

“This is the first machine sold, and it is the first to be used for harvesting in Ukraine. In Europe and America, such machines started working a little earlier. The yields here [in the fields of Kischenzi – ed.] are fantastic and in places where there was more moisture, they reach 10 tons per hectare,” says Yuri Mruk.

A 15-m MacDon header is used.

Performance indicators:

  • speed 6 km/hour
  • losses 0.6%
  • productivity 8 ha/hour
  • fuel consumption 14 l/ha

“Our system tractor’s load factor during harvesting is 50%, which means there is room for more. We tried to go faster, but due to wet straw, losses increase. It turns out that when the straw is wet, the rotor cannot shake out all the grain. I think that if it [the straw – ed.] was dry, we could go at least 8 km/hour,” adds Yuri Mruk.

After barley harvesting, Kischenzi will collect wheat, rapeseed, soybean, sunflower, and corn at the end of the season with the NEXAT system tractor.

This machine was delivered to the company this spring.
