Wheat stocks in Kazakhstan exceed 6.5 million tons
As of the beginning of September, Kazakhstan’s grain stocks amounted to 8.4 million tons, including 6.525 million tons of wheat. This was reported by the Bureau of National Statistics.
Out of the total amount of grain, food stocks amounted to 6.9 million tons, seeds – 244.7 thousand tons and fodder – 1.2 million tons.
As of the beginning of September, there were just over 6 mln tons of milling wheat, and 163.9 thou tons in the seed stock. Another 316.3 thsd tonnes were used for fodder.
The largest amount of wheat was stored in the storages of agricultural producers – 2.2 million tons, at elevators – 2 million tons, and on farms – 961.2 thousand tons. Flour millers’ stocks amounted to 679.4 thousand tons.
Kazakhstan also has barley stocks of 1.4 million tons: 573.9 thousand tons of food barley, 771 thousand tons of feed barley and 52.6 thousand tons of seeds.
In addition, the stocks of corn in Kazakhstan amounted to 43.5 thou tons, rice – 25.5 thou tons, rye – 26.5 thou tons, oats – 98 thou tons, buckwheat – 30.2 thou tons, and a mixture of spiked grains – 21.2 thou tons.
The harvest forecasts in Kazakhstan have deteriorated due to the rains that have not stopped since August 20 in the grain-growing regions.
