Wheat prices reacted to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant

Stock prices for wheat went up on June 6, 2023. Oleg Nivievsky, Vice President for Economic Education, Associate Professor at the Kyiv School of Economics, reported this on Telegram.
“Wheat went up by 3% – that’s how the markets reacted to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant,” he wrote. According to the expert, the markets are waiting for an escalation.
As of June 6, wheat costs about $6.4 per bushel.
According to Ukrhydroenergo, on June 6, Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. It is completely destroyed and cannot be restored.
