USDA Weekly Grains Inspected For Export Report (Jan. 19): Soybeans Up but Not Enough to Reverse Sliding Total

USDA

A downward trend in the amount of grains inspected for export persisted last week but at a slower pace than it was dropping early in the month.

According to the Jan. 19 Grains Inspected and/or Weighed for Export report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the total for the week ending Jan. 14 was 3.4 million metric tons, or nearly 6% less than the previous week’s total of 3.6 million.

Soybean inspections rose more than 11%, to 2.06 million metric tons from 1.85 million, but the increase was not enough to overcome a decline in corn inspections by one-third, to 876,774 metric tons.

Wheat was down slightly, meanwhile, and sorghum was up.
