USDA Weekly Grains Inspected For Export Report (Dec. 28): Fluctuating Amounts Add up to 29% Drop Overall
After rebounding slightly the week before, the amount of soybeans inspected for export tanked for the week ending Dec. 24, dragging down the total of grains inspected by nearly one-third.
According to the Dec. 28 Grains Inspected and/or Weighed for Export report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, soybeans inspected amounted to just under 1.5 million metric tons, or 48% less than the 2.8 million inspected the previous week.
Amounts of sorghum and wheat also declined, but by much smaller numbers, making a 29% increase in corn inspected fail to register on the total of grains inspected.
The total plunged from 4.2 million metric tons for the week ending Dec. 17 to just under 3 million last week.
