USDA cut its forecast for wheat and barley exports from Russia

In the April report, USDA experts changed some estimates of 2019/20 grain production and exports in the Black Sea region, UkrAgroConsult reports.

Wheat

The forecast for wheat production in Ukraine was lifted by 0.2 MMT, while the estimate of Russian wheat exports was reduced considerably (-1.5 MMT).

Corn

The forecast for corn production in Ukraine was increased by almost 0.1 MMT. The estimate of corn exports from Russia was cut by 0.5 MMT.

Barley

A slight gain is seen in the estimate of Ukrainian barley production (up almost 0.03 MMT). The forecast for Russian barley exports is down 0.5 MMT.

Overall, compared to the March estimates, the forecast for Black Sea grain production was raised by 0.1%, while the export forecast was decreased by 2.3%.
