USDA: Black Sea oilseed crop in the new season to be up more than 5 MMT

In the May report, the USDA left its forecast for the Black Sea oilseed crop in MY 2020/21 unchanged at 44.1 MMT (mutually compensating amendments concerned the soybean and sunseed crop forecasts for Ukraine):

– sunseed – 30.573 MMT (+0.1 MMT);

– soybeans – 7.417 MMT (-0.1 MMT);

– rapeseed – 6.112 MMT.

In MY 2021/22, the Black Sea countries will harvest 5.2 MMT more oilseeds – 49.3 MMT vs. 44.1 MMT in MY 2020/21:

– sunseed – 34.850 MMT (+4.277 MMT from MY 2020/21);

– soybeans – 8.210 MMT (+0.799 MMT);

– rapeseed – 6.247 MMT (+0.135 MMT).

Sunflower and soybean acreage is expected to expand, while rape plantings will remain at the 2020/21 level, UkrAgroConsult reports.
