UN proposes to lift some sanctions against Russia in exchange for resumption of “grain initiative” – Anadolu
The United Nations has prepared a package of proposals for a “grain corridor” that provides for the lifting of some sanctions against Russia. Anadolu reports.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told his Russian counterpart Lavrov that with the support of Turkey, the UN had prepared a new package of proposals for the “grain corridor”.
“The most important elements of the package are the inclusion of the European subsidiary of the Russian bank Ziraat (Rosselkhozbank) in the SWIFT system and the unblocking of frozen assets of Russian fertilizer companies in Europe,” the newspaper writes.
“Russia has stated that after the agreement expires, all ships sailing from the Black Sea to Ukrainian ports will be considered potential military cargo carriers and may be targeted, and the countries of these ships will be considered to have taken part in the war on the side of Ukraine,” the journalists added.
