Ukrainian farmers have already sown about 10 million hectares
Ukrainian farmers have already sown almost 10 million hectares of agricultural land out of the planned 11.45 million hectares. This was reported by the Ukrainian Grain Association.
“As of May 16, 2022, Ukraine has sown 9.9 million hectares of spring grain and oilseeds, which is 64% of the area under spring grain and oilseeds in 2021,” the statement said.
It is noted that the planned areas for spring grain and oilseeds this year will be approximately 11.45 million hectares, which is 3.5-4 million hectares less than last year, due to Russia’s war against Ukraine, occupation and mining.
