Ukrainian corn exports hit a record high
Corn exports from Ukraine increased sharply in September – October 2019/20. They totaled 2.5 MMT, or 52% more than in the same period last season, reports UkrAgroConsult. This is the highest volume on record for these months.
This season’s largest importers stepped up purchases, except for the EU. Exports to Egypt, Turkey and Israel increased manifold against September – October 2018/19. Moreover, Tunisia and China substantially increased purchases.
The EU remains the top importer of Ukrainian corn. For now, supplies to this market are lower than a year ago, down 22%.
