Ukraine’s grain exports jump 67% in new season
Ukraine’s grain exports so far in the 2024-25 July-June season increased 67% to nearly 2.78 million tonnes, up from 1.67 million tonnes at the same time a year ago.
The totals as of July 24 included 994,000 tonnes of wheat, 1.39 million tonnes of corn and 380,000 tonnes of barley, according to data from the agriculture ministry. Ukraine is among the world’s leading suppliers of wheat, corn, barley and sunflower-seed oil.
The ministry estimates the nation’s grain and oilseed crop for 2024 could fall to 77 million tonnes, including 56 million tonnes of grain.
Exports in the 2023-24 season totaled 51 million tonnes, up from 49.2 million tonnes in the previous season.
Combined grain and oilseed exports for 2024-25 are estimated at 60 million tonnes, about the same as 2023-24.
