Ukraine. Winter crop conditions are fair
Crop condition:
– Late January and early February featured variable air temperatures and precipitation of various intensity in the form of rain, sleet and snow;
– As of January 31, the lowest soil temperature at the tillering node depth of winter crops (3 cm) on January 21-31 was 0…-8ºC, i.e. far above the killing temperature level;
– The estimated killing temperature values were as follows: -11…-13ºC for winter wheat in the emergence – 3rd leaf stages, -14-…-16ºC for that in the tillering stage, -14…-17ºC for winter rye, -9…-13ºC for winter barley and winter rape;
– Winter crop conditions are fair, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Moisture supply:
– Light precipitation in the form of rain, sleet and snow occurred almost all over the country.
Weather forecast for February 10-13:
– Precipitation of 2-5 mm is expected in most of the country. The eastern regions will likely receive 10-25 mm;
– Air temperatures will be +5 …+5°C in the daytime, +2…+4°C at night in the West; +1…+3°C in the daytime, -1…-3°C at night in the North; 0…+2°C in the daytime, -1…-3°C at night in the East; +2…+4°C in the daytime, 0…+2°C at night in Central Ukraine; +6…+8°C in the daytime, 0…+2°C at night in the South.
