Ukraine will export up to 2 million tons of edible oil per year through the oil pipeline
It is tentatively planned that the length of the pipeline will be 600 km, and the capacity will be up to 2 million tons of oil per year. The pipeline should run from the Yagodina district (Volyn region) to Gdańsk.
The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solsky, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“First of all, it is planned to transport sunflower oil, as it is the main vegetable oil produced by Ukrainian companies. There is also rapeseed and soybean oil, but their volumes are much smaller,” says Mykola Solskyi.
According to him, the final cost of the construction of the pipeline will largely depend on the specific route and landscape. Mykola Solskyi added that the construction itself will take less time than the approval of all documents.
“The pipeline will be several hundred kilometers long, and the interests of many communities and people must be taken into account along this distance. This worries us more than the construction itself,” says Mykola Solskyi.
Regarding the financing of this project, he noted that this month a meeting of ministers of agricultural policy of the EU countries will be held in Brussels, where this issue will be resolved.
