In the near future, the Government of Ukraine will hold a meeting with the participation of Ukrainian agricultural producers, exporters, processors and representatives of relevant ministries in order to comprehensively study the issue of sunflower seed export restrictions, reports Аgroportal.

This was reported by the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko following the results of an online meeting with food industry associations, according to a statement from the Ministry of Economy.

She noted that the government consistently works to support exports with high added value.

“However, any decisions should be made taking into account the positions of all parties,” said Yuliya Svyridenko.

The ministry also noted that, taking into account the forecast sunflower harvest and stocks at the beginning of the current season, 1 million tons of sunflowers will be sent for export, while 10.7 million tons will be sent for processing.

“This will make it possible to produce 4.3 million tons of oil, fully supply Ukraine with the product, and create export volumes of about 4 million tons,” the ministry emphasized.
