Ukraine will be able to export up to 4-4.5 million tons of agricultural products every month by alternative routes, without exporting through the Black Sea.

This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agri Council, Denis Marchuk, during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.

“If all the favorable circumstances come together, we could ensure the movement (of agricultural exports via alternative routes) in the range of 4-4.5 million tons every month, but several things need to be done for this,” said Marchuk.

He noted that in order to increase the volume of Ukrainian agricultural exports by alternative routes, it is necessary to reduce the cost of logistics to a number of European ports (in Italy, Germany, Croatia, etc.) and to cancel phytosanitary inspections during the transit of products and to carry them out directly in the importing country.

According to him, Ukraine will also be able to increase the export of agricultural products through the Danube seaports, but under the condition of the absence of Russian shelling, which provokes an increase in the cost of freight.
