In the period from 2026 to 2030, Ukraine will be able to produce about 112 million tons and export more than 80 million tons of grains and oilseeds. This was stated by Mykola Gorbachev, President of the Ukrainian Grain Association, during the UGA Grain Club.

The UGA President stated that grain production is growing in Ukraine. In particular, while in 2021 Ukraine harvested 42 mln tons of grain, in 2023 it will reach 81 mln tons.

“Exports have grown significantly over the years. While in the 1920s we exported about 10 million tons per year, the terminal of one company is capable of handling about 1 million tons of grain per month,” added Mykola Gorbachev.

According to him, this season’s production is expected to be about 22 million tons of wheat. Given that domestic consumption is about 3 million tons of milling wheat and about 3-4 million tons of feed wheat, Ukraine can export about 16 million tons of grain.

“We expect a corn harvest of 29 million tons and exports of 20 million tons. The sunflower harvest will be about 14 million tons and exports will reach 600 thousand tons. As of today, about 200 thousand tons have already been exported,” said Mr. Gorbachev.

He clarified that sunflower exports are declining due to the fact that Ukrainian processors offer producers competitive prices compared to the previous season.

In addition, Ukraine had a good harvest of soybeans and rapeseed.

“Overall, this year’s exports of grains and oilseeds will amount to about 50 million tons, excluding processed products. If not for the war, our grain production would have been at least 100 million tons. However, thanks to the technological advancement, we will be able to grow more than 112 million tons of grains and oilseeds in the period from 2026 to 2030 and export more than 80 million tons,” added Mykola Gorbachev.
