Ukraine. Wheat exports hitting new highs

1310 KMT of wheat was shipped abroad in March that is a record high for this month, 93% more than in February and 47% more than in March 2018/19, UkrAgroConsult reports.

Ukraine exported 34% more than a year earlier.

The record-high volume of March exports was accounted for mostly by deliveries to Egypt. This country absorbed 18% of total wheat exports from Ukraine in the first nine months of MY 2019/20.

Other major buyers in March were Bangladesh and Yemen.

The greatest year-on-year gains are shown by Turkey and Yemen.

Morocco has been buying no wheat from Ukraine for a third consecutive month now. As a result, the country dropped off the top 10 list of importers of Ukrainian wheat;

Exports to almost all key destinations are up on the year, except for the following markets: the EU: -46%, the Philippines: -35%, Thailand: -29%.
