The State Property Fund plans to put up Belgorod-Dniester Commercial Sea Port for privatization by the end of winter. This was announced on Tuesday, January 17, at a briefing by Oleksandr Slavsky, head of the regional office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.

“By the end of January or in early February, we will be able to put the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Commercial Sea Port up for auction,” he said.

The port in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi was planned to be privatized before the start of the great war. It was unprofitable for the state and did not bring in money even to pay salaries to employees.

The port of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi is located on the western bank of the Dniester estuary and has been used by Ukraine as a logistics center for ports on the Danube since April. It receives cargo by truck and ships it onward in railcars.

As a result, in just six months of 2022, the company handled more cargo than in the last three years in total.
