Pursuant to the report, the forecasted area of the main spring crops (10 crops) is 15.26 mln ha, 0.3 mln ha more than in 2019. The share of corn and sunflower in the structure of spring crops is expected to increase, whereas barley, soybeans and sugar beet areas will be reduced.
"The introduction of an emergency situation all over Ukraine does not provide for restrictions on the free movement of goods. So, now the agrarians are provided with all necessary material and technical resources for the sowing campaign (seeds, PPPs, mineral fertilizers, fuel and lubricants, etc.). The sowing season 2020 started as scheduled. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, there are still preserved favourable conditions for conducting fast sowing campaign," the Ministry said.
As a reminder, as of Mar. 24 all regions of Ukraine started spring crops sowing.
