Ukraine. Spring crops are largely in good condition

Weather conditions. Very warm weather with frequent precipitation of various intensity, thunderstorms and squalls (locally with hail) persisted on June 11-23.

Moisture supply. Precipitation substantially replenished soil moisture and thereby improved growing conditions for late crops. In early grain crops, rains, on the contrary, caused a delay in harvesting, deteriorated the phytosanitary situation and grain quality, led to the emergence of unfertile stems, higher weed rates, and plant lodging (in well-developed crops).

Crop condition. The weather conditions are fair for grain formation and filling in spring cereal and pulse crops. Winter grain crops are rated mostly fair to good. The majority of winter grains are good and fair. Spring crops are largely in good condition, UkrAgroConsult reports.

Farmers have harvested the first 100 KMT of grains. Because of weather conditions, harvesting operations started earlier than in previous years. Southern areas were the first to kick off this work. As of June 26, winter crops (barley, wheat and rape) have been harvested from 35.7 Th ha. This included some 26 Th ha in Mykolaiv region, 7.24 Th ha in Kherson region, and 2.5 Th ha in Odesa region.
