Ukraine. Soybean meal exports in May hit a season low
Soybean meal exports from Ukraine in September-May 2019/20 totaled a record 607.1 KMT (+9.8% year-on-year), UkrAgroConsult reports.
May witnessed the lowest monthly export volume since the season’s beginning – 36.5 KMT – as the raw material shortage starts to manifest itself in view of a decreased crop and surged exports of soybeans.
The EU remains the biggest importer with a market share of 45% (+21% year-on-year).
Growth in exports was registered to the following markets: Romania (+192%), Azerbaijan (+110%), Belarus (+16%).
A slowdown in exports was observed to Germany (-88%), Turkmenistan (-75%), Turkey (-40%).
