Ukraine sows 5.4 million hectares of winter crops
Ukraine continues sowing winter crops. As of the end of October, 4 mln 211 thou hectares have been sown, namely: wheat – 3 733 thou hectares, barley – 403 thou hectares, rye – 76 thou hectares. The increase in planted areas for the week amounted to 362 thou hectares.
Dnipropetrovs’k region has sown the most winter grains – 460.5 thou hectares.
This week, farmers in Ivano-Frankivsk region have completed sowing of winter crops. This is the fifth region where the winter crops sowing campaign has been completed. Prior to that, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia and Poltava regions completed the winter crops sowing campaign.
We remind you that winter rapeseed sowing has been completed in all regions, with 1 mln 142 thou hectares planted. The largest areas were planted in Dnipropetrovs’k region (125 thou hectares) and Odesa region (120.2 thou hectares).
