Ukraine should export about 55 million tons of grain and processed products this season – Solsky
In 2023/24 MY, Ukraine should export about 55 mln tons of grains, oilseeds and processed products. This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky.
“Last year, we counted about 72 million tons of harvest, this year we expect 78-79 million tons, which is about plus or minus 10%. Obviously, our domestic consumption hasn’t changed much – about 7 million tons. In absolute terms, this means that this year we need to export at least 55 million tons of the new harvest – these are grains and oilseeds processed into oil, but in total it is at least 55 million tons,” Solsky said.
He noted that last year, from February 24 to August, export volumes were minimal.
According to Solsky, the volume of agricultural exports has increased compared to August and September, especially after October 10, thanks to the work of the Ukrainian sea corridor, “so these are millions of tons – these are very good indicators.”
As a reminder, as of November 27, agro-exports by road amounted to 425 thousand tons, compared to 468 thousand tons in October and 459 thousand tons in September. Deteriorating weather conditions and technical barriers blocking entry to Poland led to a decline in export shipments in November.
