Ukraine restores forward contracts for grains and oilseeds
Ukraine is restoring forward contracts for grains and oilseeds, said Vadym Miroshnichenko, Head of Trade at Cargill, at Grain Ukraine 2024, Latifundist.com reports.
“Last year, at this time, we had a full grain terminal and 4 vessels in the Bosporus, but they could not enter, there was no talk of forwards. Now the Black Sea is working, there is predictability and stability, and forward contracts are emerging,” he says.
According to Oleksandr Golovin, Commercial Director of Kernel Trade in Ukraine, the company has resumed forward programs not only for oilseeds but also for wheat.
“Today, we can forward products not only on the terms of delivery to the terminal. We even forward on an ex-works basis – the elevator is pegged to the exchange rate,” Golovin said.
