Ukraine. Recent precipitation slightly improved the end of the growing season of late-sown crops

Crop condition and moisture supply:

– Variable weather prevailed on August 21-31 and in early September;
– The weather conditions had an adverse impact on corn and sunflower maturation;
– Farmers continue planting winter rape;
– Soybean harvest started in nine regions on September 3.

Precipitation of recent days improved the end of the growing season of late-sown crops, replenished topsoil moisture, created fair conditions for tillage before planting winter grains, and promoted emergence of winter rape, UkrAgroConsult reports.

Weather forecast for September 8-13:

– The highest precipitation rates (15-25 mm) will be seen in the northwest;
– Air temperature will be 21 … 23°C in the northwest, 29 … 31°C in the eastern and central regions, and up to +32°C in the south;
– Soil moisture in the northwestern regions will be sufficient for preparing planting of winter crops;
– The northern, central, and southern regions will receive 5-10 mm of precipitation;
– No precipitation in the east;
– The weather conditions in the eastern regions may adversely affect corn and sunflower growing.
