A meeting of the International Grains Council (IGC) was held in London, following which Ukraine was re-elected to the IGC Administrative Committee for 2024-2025. This was announced by Stepan Cherniavsky, Member of Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy.

According to the MP, the meeting was attended by representatives of grain producing and importing countries. Mr. Cherniavsky said that they discussed the impact of the war in Ukraine on food security in the world.

The Ukrainian side emphasized the balance of the Ukrainian government’s policy in global trade and the sustainability of the national agricultural sector. According to Cherniavsky, this allowed Ukraine to achieve positive results on foreign grain markets during the war. The MP also said that the Russian delegation did not participate in the discussion, but only recorded the positions of the participating countries.

I have completed my week-long visit to London, where I took part in the IGC Grains Conference 2024. Following the meeting of the International Grains Council (IGC), Ukraine was re-elected to the IGC Administrative Committee for 2024-2025 as one of the 8 largest grain exporting countries. In general, the decisions taken are in line with the interests of our country,” said Stepan Cherniavsky.
