Ukraine. Rates of winter grains planting are 26% behind last year

According to the latest information as of September 9, planting of winter grains has started in Ukraine, with its progress being 26.2% behind last year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Planting of winter rape is 9.8% ahead of last year. Corn harvest has accelerated to 68.9% behind last year, with yield being 9.5% higher than in 2018.

Harvest of late crops: buckwheat harvest is 56.9% behind last year, with a 5.0% higher yield than in 2018; millet harvest is 106.9% ahead of last year, with a 16.3% higher yield than in 2018.

Sunflower seed harvest has slowed down (4.6% behind last year), with its yield being comparable with 2018 and the total crop being currently down 4.1% from last year.

Soybean harvest is 18.6% ahead of last year, with a 5.4% lower yield than in 2018.
