Ukraine. Rapeseed oil production grew by 27%

In April 2020, overall production of unrefined vegetable oils in Ukraine was up 4% year-on-year, including:

  • sunflower oil – up 6%;
  • rape oil – down 79%;
  • soybean oil – down 22%;

April witnessed a 35% rise in sunflower oil refining, UkrAgroConsult reports.

10% more sunflower oil had been produced since the beginning of MY 2019/20 than a year earlier, with a 27% gain in rape oil output, but soybean oil production decreased by 6%.

Seasonal production of sunflower and rape oils remains at record levels.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, oilseeds stocks as of June 1, 2020 were as follows:

  • sunflower seed stocks were 6% higher than a year earlier, including a roughly 17% gain at storage and processing companies and a 7.5% drop at growers;
  • soybean stocks were down 67% year-on-year;
  • rapeseed stocks were down 13% year-on-year.
