Ukraine proposed to Argentina and Chile to create a free trade zone
Ukraine has proposed to Argentina and Chile to establish a free trade zone.
This was announced by the Ministry of Economy after a working trip to South America.
“We know that there is already interest from companies in the pharmaceutical and agricultural sectors, as well as the processing industry, which want to deepen cooperation with Ukraine. The free trade agreement with Argentina, which we are currently working on, may contribute to this. Cooperation with Argentina is reaching a qualitatively new level,” said Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
She said that Ukraine is interested in cooperation with Argentina as one of the leaders of the strategically important region of Latin America,
After Argentina, the Ukrainian delegation, which also included Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshyn and a number of deputy ministers, went to Chile. This is the first visit of this level to Chile in the last 19 years.
“We have a lot in common with Chile, especially in the extraction of minerals and critical materials. I hope to deepen cooperation in this area. We also discussed logistics issues. The next step in our cooperation is to deepen the dialogue at the level of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of our countries,” Svyrydenko said.
