Ukraine presents humanitarian food program at Grain from Ukraine conference in Istanbul
Today, on November 24, the office of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEIK) hosted the Grain from Ukraine conference, where Consul General Roman Nedilsky presented to Turkish businessmen a humanitarian food program initiated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to supply grain to the poorest countries in Africa.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Turkey.
“The program provides for the purchase of Ukrainian grain by partner countries and its transfer to countries suffering from a humanitarian crisis. The program is implemented in partnership with the World Food Program under the auspices of the United Nations. As part of the program, 170 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat have already been distributed to some of the most socially vulnerable countries in Africa,” said Nedilsky.
During the event, the opportunities of the international platform Nazovni for expanding trade and economic ties between Turkish business and Ukrainian exporters were also presented.
“We would like to thank Rushen Chetin, Chairman of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEIK), for his constant support of our initiatives.
We are confident that each such meeting will open up new opportunities for deepening economic cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey,” the Consulate General added.
