To ensure the supply of agricultural products within the framework of the humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine, up to 10 ships are planned to be sent from Ukrainian ports every month. This will make it possible to provide at least 5 million people with grain by the end of spring 2023.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) press service.

Today, the first ship with 27,000 tons of humanitarian wheat from Ukraine for Ethiopia leaves the Odesa port in a caravan. The German government and the UN World Food Program acted as partners.

USPA also noted that Ukrainian grain is now irreplaceable on the world market.

“The world food market is not flexible. This means that it will be impossible to replace Ukrainian products due to supplies from other countries even in the future of 4-5 years. It should be noted that before the full-scale invasion, Ukraine supplied more than 15% of the world’s corn exports, more than 10% of wheat, more than 15-20% of barley, and more than 50% of sunflower oil,” the report noted.
