Ukraine plans to launch ferries from Chornomorsk to Georgia
The Chornomorsk-Poti ferry crossing may resume operations in the spring of 2024. This was stated by Yuriy Vaskov, Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, at the Exporters’ Summit.
According to him, Ukraine already has several potential shipowners, as well as potential carriers for the Chornomorsk-Georgia-Bulgaria-Turkey rail and road connection.
“We are working in all directions. I think that it will be a little later than container transportation (the Chornomorsk-Poti ferry will start operating – ed.), but I think it can happen in the spring,” the Deputy Minister said.
As reported earlier, the Ministry of Reconstruction announced plans to resume container transportation through the Ukrainian sea corridor within two to three weeks.
As a reminder, since early March, the Ukrainian Sea Corridor has been operating around the clock after receiving the necessary permits from the Ukrainian Navy.
