Ukraine needs to introduce export duties on grain, – People’s Deputy
The Secretary of the Agrarian Committee of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament of Ukraine), People’s Deputy Ivan Chaikovsky wrote about this in a blog on AgroPolit. In his opinion, the duty will stimulate the creation of additional value in the agricultural sector.
“The situation is not simple again, but we need to look for options. We can look at different countries. For example, Turkey has created a so-called “free port” zone for itself, located mills in it and actively buys Ukrainian wheat for processing and then sells the finished flour to other countries. What is to be done? We can consider the option of introducing an export duty, for example, in the amount of $30 per ton, and $25 of them conditionally given to support flour exporters,” Ivan Chaikovsky said.
