Ukraine is not threatened by a shortage of sunflower oil – Stepan Kapshuk
This marketing year, Ukraine is not threatened by a shortage of sunflower oil. This was announced by Stepan Kapshuk, CEO of Ukroliyaprom, Agravery.com correspondent reports.
“The level of consumption of sunflower oil in Ukraine in packaged form is about 20-25 thousand tons per month, 400 thousand tons – per year, while the oil and fat industry, according to the forecast for the current marketing year, were to produce more than 7 million tons of oil “, – comments Kapshuk.
According to him, today, for some reason, only companies equipped with packing lines are operating. Their capabilities can fully meet the needs of the population and the army. Sun oil producers did not raise selling prices, and retail, if they increased, only due to logistics, which have become significantly more complicated.
“We are optimistic about the prospects for the next marketing year. With the help of Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotsky, we are able to solve many problems related to the work of the industry. This year’s sunseed areas remain in question, as farmers are afraid that there will be no sales. But there is hope that with the support of the government, it will be possible to significantly expand the export corridor, which will allow to involve the majority of enterprises in the industry for processing, “said the general director of the association.
Thus, in any case, enterprises will not be left without raw materials, as last year’s harvest could not be completely processed. According to the association’s calculations, the farms have about 8 million tons of seeds.
“We hope that peace will come, we will fully restore refining and leading positions in the production and export of oil in the world,” – said Stepan Kapshuk.
