Ukraine harvests 39.4 million tonnes of grain
Ukrainian farmers have harvested grain and leguminous crops from an area of 10 million hectares and threshed 39.4 million tonnes of grain.
"As of August 30, Ukrainian farmers harvested grain and leguminous crops from an area of 10 million hectares and threshed 39.4 million tonnes of grain," the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports.
In particular, Ukrainian farmers harvested 39.2 million tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops from an area of 9.96 million hectares (or 99.9% of the target); 13,000 tonnes of buckwheat from an area of 10,000 hectares (or 15% of the target); 74,000 tonnes of millet from an area of 40,000 hectares (or 44% of the target).
In addition, 492,000 tonnes of sunflower from an area of 281,000 hectares (or 5% of the target) and 96,000 tonnes of soybeans from an area of 43,000 hectares (3% of the target) were threshed.
Grain has been most threshed in Odesa region (3.1 million tonnes), Zaporizhzhia region (3.1 million tonnes), Kharkiv region (2.9 million tonnes), Dnipropetrovsk region (2.7 million tonnes), and Mykolaiv region (2.6 million tonnes).
