Ukraine. Harvesting progress, July 29, 2019

According to the latest information as of July 29:

The Ag Ministry raised its harvested area forecasts for the following crops:

  • early grains and pulses, to 10008 Th ha (+248 Th ha),
  • wheat, to 6810 Th ha (+188 Th ha),
  • barley, to 2622 Th ha (+92 Th ha),
  • rye, to 117 Th ha (+2 Th ha);

The harvested area forecasts were reduced for oats, to 183 Th ha (-7 Th ha), peas, to 263 Th ha (-20 Th ha), winter rape, to 1259 Th ha (-31 Th ha).

Harvest of the following crops is ahead of last year:

  • wheat (+11%, its harvest has slowed down since July 25, 2019),
  • barley (+33%, slowed down),
  • rye (+26%, accelerated),
  • oats (+69%, slowed down),
  • winter rapeseed (+30%, accelerated);

Pea harvest slowed down to 27% behind last year, being 95% complete with a total crop 3.7% lower than last year.

The following crops show higher yields than last year: wheat (+14.2%), barley (+17.7%), rye (+10.7%), oats (+39.2%), peas (+33.1%).
