Ukraine harvested over 67 million tons of grains and oilseeds

As of the beginning of November, Ukraine harvested over 67 million tons of new crops, including 47 million 184.1 thousand tons of grains and 19.958 thousand tons of oilseeds.

Grain and pulses crops were harvested on an area of 9 324.6 thou hectares with a yield of 50.6 c/ha, including

• wheat was harvested on 4 694.5 thou hectares (yield – 47.7 c/ha), with a harvest of 22 409 thou tons;
• corn was harvested on 2 420.1 thousand hectares (yield – 70.8 c/ha), 17 133 thousand tons were harvested;
• barley was harvested on 1 504.5 thousand hectares (yield – 39.2 c/ha), 5 890 thousand tons were harvested;
• peas were harvested on 154.4 thousand hectares (yield – 25.8 c/ha), 398.2 thousand tons were harvested;
• buckwheat was harvested on 138.7 thousand hectares (yield – 14.9 c/ha), with a harvest of 206.5 thousand tons;
• millet was harvested on 78.7 thou hectares (yield – 22.7 c/ha), with a harvest of 178.6 thou tons;
• other grains and pulses were harvested on 333.8 thou hectares, with a total harvest of 969.3 thou tons.

Vinnytsia region has the largest grain harvest, with nearly 4 million tons harvested. Cherkasy, Kirovograd, Poltava, Odesa and Dnipro regions harvested over 3 million tons of grain each. Agricultural producers in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Sumy, Khmelnytsky, and Chernihiv regions harvested 2 million tons of grain each.

Oilseeds were harvested on an area of 7,938 thou hectares, including:

• sunflower was harvested on an area of 4,776.3 thou hectares (yield – 23.7 c/ha), with 11,310 thou tons of seeds harvested;
• soybeans were harvested on the area of 1 765.6 thou hectares (yield – 26.3 c/ha), 4 643 thou tons were harvested;
• rapeseed was harvested on the area of 1 396 thou hectares (yield – 28.7 c/ha), 4 005 thou tons of seeds were harvested. The harvest is complete.

The highest sunflower harvest was in Dnipropetrovs’k region – 1,428 thsd tonnes and in Kirovohrad region – 1,426 thsd tonnes. Khmelnytsky region is the leader in soybean harvesting with 576.9 thsd tonnes.

Sugar beet harvesting continues, with 183.8 thou hectares of sugar beet harvested, 8,729.2 thou tons of sweet roots harvested, yielding 475 c/ha.
