Ukraine. Grain handling in sea ports rose by 32%
In 2019, Ukraine’s sea ports increased cargo turnover from 2018 by 18.4%, to 160.0 MMT. The volume of transshipped dry bulk cargoes rose by 23.9%, to 116.8 MMT. In particular, handling of grains rose by 32%, to 54.6 MMT, while that of vegoils was up 4.9%, at 5.8 MMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The volume of major cargoes (grains, metal products, petroleum products, construction materials and others) shipped by the Dnipro River in 2019 was up 19.1% year-on-year, at 11.8 MMT. In particular, grain shipments grew by 54.3%, to 4.9 MMT.
