Ukraine is gradually increasing the export of grain and oilseeds to many countries of the world due to “grain corridor”. Thus, as of September 7, 2022, the number of ships leaving Ukrainian ports reached 100, and exports amounted to more than 2 million tons of grains and oilseeds. More than 260,000 tons of products were also exported: sunflower oil and meal, peas, etc.

In total, about 64% of grain and oilseeds volumes were sent to Asian and African countries, the rest – to Europe.

In particular, the greater part of wheat volumes were exported to African countries, the region that suffers the most from shortages and high prices for food, in particular for grain.

Just to remind, UGA forecasts, exports from Ukraine in the 2022/2023 marketing year may reach 32.8 million tons, provided that the sea route of export is preserved.

On July 22, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN signed the “Initiative for safe transportation of grain and food products from Ukrainian ports”, which opened up the possibility of exporting grain and oil products, as well as their products. A mirror agreement was also signed by Turkey and the UN with Russia.

The first ship with Ukrainian grain left the Ukrainian port on August 1, 2022 with a cargo of Ukrainian corn in the amount of 26 thousand tons.
