The State Property Fund has prepared the privatization of the Ust-Dunaysk Commercial Sea Port. This will be the first sale of a seaport since Ukraine’s independence. The privatization auction will be held on January 17 on Prozorro.Sale. The starting price is UAH 60 million.

“Before the war, almost everyone had forgotten about the Ust-Dunaysk. The main investments were made in other seaports. But this year, Ust-Dunaysk seaport began to play a crucial role in global food security. It was one of the first to resume work after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian army. It has great potential for the development of Ukrainian food exports. This requires investments that can be brought by private business,” commented the Head of the State Property Fund Rustem Umerov.

After the war started, the port was blocked. However, on April 1, it resumed its work. On that day, the first vessel left the port. Since then, the port has exported 153,000 tonnes of grain. In addition, it handles imported cargo, such as salt, rice. Since April 1, the port has handled 58,300 tons of imported consumer goods.

In January-September 2022, Ust-Dunaysk received UAH 848,000 in net profit. In January-November, it paid more than UAH 9 million in taxes to the budgets of all levels.

The port consists of three assets – the port itself in the city of Vilkovo, Odesa region, the port point Kiliya in the city of Kiliya, and the base for servicing special lighter vessels on the island of Shabash. Direct loading and unloading operations are carried out in the port of Kiliya, which is located 54 km from the Danube River. The passport depth at the berth is 3 m, actual depth is 1.5 m.
