Ukraine. FAO announces tender for emergency procurement of maize and sunflower seeds
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched a tender to procure maize and sunflower seeds to provide the urgent assistance to vulnerable rural households during the upcoming spring seeding season. This activity is a part of the FAO’s 2023 Response Programme for Ukraine.
The crop seeds will be distributed to eight war-affected oblasts along the front line, namely to Chernihivska, Dnipropetrovska, Donetska, Kharkivska, Khersonska, Mykolaivska, Sumska and Zaporizka oblasts. This programme aims to support the recovery of livelihoods and incentivize households to re-establish and continue agricultural production.
The potential suppliers are invited to submit offers for either the complete quantity or partial quantities of the seeds required:
- Maize seeds – 20 000 bags (one bag = one sowing unit of 50 000 – 80 000 seeds each)
- Sunflower seeds – 20 000 Bags (one bag = one sowing unit of 150 000 seeds each)
In order to participate in the tender, suppliers are invited to apply through the United Nations Global Market Place www.ungm.org by selecting the following tender:
The closing date and time for the submission is 3 April 2023 at 10:00 am GMT (11:00 am Kyiv time).
The suppliers are required to be registered (https://www.ungm.org/Vendor/Registration). Detailed instructions on how to access FAO tender documents and submit the bid through UNGM can be downloaded from the UNGM Tender Management page.
On 29 March 2023, FAO will hold an online conference for potential suppliers to present detailed information on submission requirements, respond to queries and review instructions for registration in the UNGM system.
