Ukraine exported more than one million tons of wheat in August

The volume of exports of grains and pulses from Ukraine in 2023/24 MY as of August 30 amounted to 4.34 mln tonnes, up almost 10% compared to the same period last season (3.96 mln tonnes). This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Thus, 1.9 mln tons of wheat have been shipped since the beginning of the season, which is 65% more than last year.

Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to 473 thsd tonnes (+11% compared to the same period of 2022). Rye was shipped in the amount of 0.6 thsd tonnes.

Almost 2 mln tons of corn were exported, which is 21% less than the volume of shipments on the same date last season.

In 2023/24 MY, Ukraine exported 22.4 thsd tonnes of flour, which is almost twice as much as last year (11.9 thsd tonnes).

Thus, in August, the country exported 2.07 mln tonnes of grain. This is 9% less than last year’s August. During the month, the company exported 1.06 mln tonnes of wheat (+39%), 178 thsd tonnes of barley (+11%), 823 thsd tonnes of corn (-38%), and 12.6 thsd tonnes of flour (+62%).

For reference, in 2022/23 MY the exports of grains and pulses totaled 49 mln tonnes: wheat – 16.8 mln tonnes, barley – 2.7 mln tonnes, rye – 18 thsd tonnes, corn – 29.1 mln tonnes, flour – 153.6 thsd tonnes.
