Exports totalled a record 30.3mln tonnes in the 2019/20 season

Ukrainian corn export prices have added $2-$5 per tonne in the past few days due to limited supplies and unclear crop prospects in South America, analyst APK-Inform said on Tuesday.

Ukrainian corn bid prices reached $215-$222 per tonne CPT (carriage paid to) Black Sea as of Dec. 29, the consultancy said in a report.

FOB prices were flat over the past week.

Ukraine, among the world’s major wheat growers and exporters, plans to export 22.3 million tonnes in the 2020/21 season.

Exports totalled a record 30.3 million tonnes in the 2019/20 season.

Ukraine’s economy ministry said last week it cut its grain export forecast for the 2020/21 July-June season to 44.175 million tonnes from a previous forecast of 44.823 million due to smaller corn shipments.

Ukraine harvested 64.5 million tonnes of grain in 2020, the ministry said.

Ukraine accounted for about 16% of global grain exports in the 2019/20 season, while its exports have fallen to 25.3 million tonnes as of Dec. 28.
