By August, more than 25.3 M mt of grain and 3.3 M mt of oilseeds were harvested. Grain and oilseeds continue to arrive at ports and border crossings.  Exports in July amounted to 4.9 M mt, which is only a few percent less than in June and significantly higher than in July 2023. Corn of 2023 crop is almost finished, so increase in exports of wheat, barley and rapeseed volumes in August is expected.

LAND LOGISTICS

In July, exports by road increased to 146 K mt (+14% compared to June), which is the highest level in the last 5 months. Sunflower oil and soybeans continue to account for the majority of land shipments. In August, rapeseed exports increase with corresponding growth of freight costs. For the time being, however, transport costs to Europe continue to fall.

Rail shipments decreased in July to 475 K mt (-18% compared to June). However, demand for domestic logistics is growing – at the beginning of August, 5000 wagons with grain were sent to the ports (+25% of wagons compared to June).
